Where Tradition Dances Through Time in Tokyo’s Hidden Geisha District
In the heart of Tokyo lies Kagurazaka, a neighborhood where history and elegance still dance in perfect rhythm. Protected by the moats of Edo Castle, its stone-paved alleys whisper stories of the kagai—Tokyo’s geisha district—where refinement, beauty, and artistry have been passed down for generations.
This autumn, the doors to that world will open once again.

What is Ozashiki Asobi? A Rare and Elegant Gathering
Usually, only three geisha perform together at a private banquet. But for this special occasion, six geisha—each trained in Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance), music, and refined conversation—will gather to perform traditional dances and lead participants in ozashiki games, just as they would for distinguished guests in a ryotei.
There will also be a Q&A session, allowing guests to ask questions directly to the geisha—a rare chance to learn about their artistry, lifestyle, and training.
At just ¥3,500 per person, this event offers access to a world that is normally invitation-only—a truly unforgettable opportunity for cultural travelers seeking authenticity in the heart of Tokyo.
